Tower Bridge has stood over London's River Thames since 1894 and is one of London's most distinctive landmarks. When it was built it was the most sophisticated bridge of its kind in the world, able to raise its roadway in only about a minute to allow ships to pass. Turning the panoramic image clockwise you can see Norman Foster's City Hall across the river and London's ancient fortress the Tower of London.
