In 1958 two University graduates - one from Oxford and one from Cambridge - founded a London tour operator specialising in privately guided tours of England's two ancient University Cities, Oxford and Cambridge.
By 1969 the company had significantly expanded and were offering private tours around the whole of England, Scotland & Wales. Looking for a new name to reflect their new services they acquired British Tours Ltd, a company founded in 1931.
Today, office in London's West End still specialises in personal and flexible touring with the best tour guides around London and Britain. We provide tours for all size groups - by car with driver-guides, by minibus and coach. We also have many Walking Tours and Rambling Tours.
In Europe, we offer private day tours from London to Paris, tours in Paris and the whole of France. We also offer private tours in and around Rome and Italy. Our tours are available in all languages.
As well as covering the most famous sights, we pride ourselves on also showing our clients authentic, less "touristy" sights with excellent local guides away from the large bus groups.
Some of our special interest tours include Stonehenge at Dawn, Jane Austen, Legal London, England's Gardens, Tours for Kids, Ancestry Tours, Film & TV Locations, Museums & Galleries, Military Tours, WW2 Airbases, Overnight Castles, the Normandy D-Day Beaches by Private Plane and many more.
Our Tour Planners are happy to customise any of our tours to suit your requirements, or to research an entirely new itinerary for you.
