Magnificent Chartres Cathedral is widely considered to mark the high point of Gothic architecture in France.

See the vast nave and the royal portal adorned with sculptures, many carved between 1145 and 1170. On the west façade you will see the two towers built 300 years apart - the one in flamboyant Gothic style, the other crafted in the Romanesque style.

The Cathedral houses over 150 beautiful stained glass windows, covering over 21,500 sq ft in all, illustrating scenes from the Bible.
