About The Tour
Standing amid 60 acres of gardens and beautifully situated along the River Thames is Hampton Court Palace, a favourite residence of Henry Vlll. Its magnificent Great Hall is hung with sixteenth century tapestries, and the state apartments of succeeding monarchs are furnished with pictures from the Royal Collection. With the most complete sixteenth century kitchens in Europe, a Haunted Gallery (the ghosts of Jane Seymour and Catherine Howard supposedly haunt the Palace), Orangery, Henry VIII's astronomical clock, Tudor tennis court and the oldest maze in England, Hampton Court Palace is one of the most intriguing of all the survivals from an intriguing age.
